Doctor Adriana Roncella was born on the 15th of May 1955 in Rome, where she lives and works.
She graduated in Medicine and Surgery at ‘La Sapienza University’ in Rome in 1979 and specialized in Cardiology and Psychotherapy.
Since 1992 she has been working in the Cardiovascular Disease Department of San Filippo Neri Hospital in Rome.
She has been carrying out research in the field of “Psychosocial risk factors in ischemic cardiopaty” for 15 years,swisspatek and she is the main researcher of the randomized controlled study STEP IN AMI (Short TErm Psycotherapy IN Acute Myocardial Infarction), which evaluates the role of short-term psychotherapy in patients with acute myocardial infarction revascularized by primary PTCA.

For this research she has received the “Antonio Meneghetti Award 2014 for research on Medicine”, Scientific and Humanistic Research Foundation Antonio Meneghetti.
She has been coeditor and coauthor of the following book: “Psychotherapy For Ischemic Heart Disease. An Evidence Based Clinical Approach”, Adriana Roncella and Christian Pristipino editors, Springer 2016.
She has received the “Antonio Meneghetti Award 2017 for research on Medicine”, Scientific and Humanistic Research Foundation Antonio Meneghetti, for the protocol “PSYCHONIC (PSYChosomatic medicine in ONcologIc and Cardiac disease). Scientific and Humanistic Research Foundation Antonio Meneghetti”.
